Study Abroad Poetry: Norway

by Isabella Raffone

Norway was the most magical place I have ever been to. The child in me was living and happy every moment I was here. Reindeers, Northern Lights, sleigh rides, and being surrounded by snow–I could not have had a more perfect time.

Winter Tale

This is no Christmas tale to tell,

Although it may seem to be.

December comes, eyes shut, and woke up like I was in a dream.

On top of a mountain looking down.

A village appears lit up like when Christmas comes to town.

Sledding on pure white snow,

Snowballs getting ready to throw.

Reindeer casually walking by

Feeding, petting, and saying hi.

Now I told you

This is no Christmas tale to tell

Although it may seem to be

This is just the magic and beauty of

The winter wonderland

Tromsø.

The Northern Lights

The day is dark

The night is bright

Cheers to you

The Northern Lights.

Sky of green

The light beams

Cheers to you

The Northern Lights.
