Karl Marx & Current Generation: What We Learned from It -Anh Nguyen

This article will be about discussing the progress of people thinking about liberation and equality. The ideas have changed and evolved over time, but the sense of justice for society still holds the same value. However, not a lot of people understood certain societal-political ideology. People would simply think that one political position is bad, and the other one is good, but it all depends on the leadership that gives guidance for the people in society.

As we went through the historical figures who represented Communism and Socialism, we can see that their perspective and ideologies did not always align with each other. In practice, many flaws and sacrifices were made to achieve society's liberation standard. However, Trotsky wanted to have Socialism to progress its way on its own and Lenin and Stalin forcefully get rid of the Russian Empire using brutality. Because of this, what Lenin and Stalin planned did not successfully achieve due to the lack of liberation for its people.

The Misconception

Marx focused on the macro perspective of humanities in liberation and equality, but the time for people to reach that standard would take decades. As our society progressed, people started to consider what the actual meaning of liberation and equality is. We have been fighting for justice for people of color, gender inequality, sexual orientation, and so on. People have misconception towards Marxism ideology as they thought people does not have voices to speak up, not individualistic, and related to dictatorship. It is due to the impression the political leadership that use forceful method that causes lots sacrifices, and the dilemma arrived as people go against the violence movement for the revolution. Additionally, it takes decades to repair industrialization and economy as it needs to build up from top to bottom. To this day, the practice of Communism and Socialism still has not yet achieved the ultimate and goal of equality due to the complexities of industrial growth and the behavioral attitudes of people.

Discussion

The idea might seem simplistic, but it is much more complex as many components of development depend on the country. We could acknowledge that the forceful method Stalin and Lenin applied to Russia was deemed unethical for humanities. However, to break off the old age, forceful movement would be considered the only way that could change the country. For better or worse, it depends on the time and progress.
