As promised in my last article, I will be breaking down the editing and events branches of HC x Lasell this week. The editing and events branches are a little different because they aren’t as much about creating content for social media platforms, but instead about the actual members of the club.
In the editing branch of HC x Lasell, editors are sent articles each week by the students assigned to them. Usually by the first meeting each semester, the editors who choose to come back will be assigned writers within the club. Afterward, once the new members have chosen their branches, any new editors will then be assigned writers as well. Editors do not have to make huge edits to students' articles, just a few grammatical and phrasing fixes, so that their articles flow nicely. Editing in HC is not about making the articles perfect or spotless, simply fixing any little errors. We want to keep the articles as authentic as we can.
On the other side is the events branch. The events branch has the most unique job out of all the branches. They oversee planning any events that HC x Lasell will have, budgeting the events, getting any material required for it, and more. The director of events must make sure that all the materials arrive on time and that the event location is booked in advance, as well as keep track of the money that is spent.
That’s the last of the branches within the Her Campus x Lasell club! While writing articles is a large part of what our club does, these branches activities truly immerse students into the HC organization.
